Ned Oliver

I'm a freelance journalist and photographer currently based in Montevideo, Uruguay.

I've worked as a staff reporter at Axios, the Richmond-Times Dispatch and the Virginia Mercury and my work has appeared in the New York Times, the Associated Press and dozens of other outlets around the country. In 2020 I was named Outstanding Journalist of the Year by the Virginia Press Association for my work reporting on the failures of state's unemployment insurance program during the pandemic.
